Manuscript Critiquing
If you have a manuscript for the YA or MG market and would like me to read and critique it, I would love to work with you! I can also read and critique your query letter and/or synopsis.
Pricing:
First 10 pages: $79 USD
First 50 pages: $199 USD
Full manuscript (up to 70,000 words): $499 USD (over 70k words priced at $0.008 per word)
Each of the above critiques will include my thoughts on what is working and what could be revised to improve your manuscript’s chances in the current traditional publishing YA and MG market. Extensive comments in the Word doc (using track changes) along with a letter from me containing my notes and analysis, followed by a 90-120 minute call (FaceTime, Zoom, etc.). For 10 pages you can expect 2-3 pages of notes, for a full manuscript, you could expect 10 or more pages of notes. I will discuss big picture issues: characters, voice, structure, conflict, world-building, pace, etc. The comments in the manuscript will include some discussion of your prose and sentence structure, as well. (Please note: This is not copyediting. I’m not correcting your grammar and spelling. That’s a different kind of editing. This is more developmental editing.)

Query and Synopsis Help
Send me your query and/or synopsis, and I’ll share my thoughts on how you could revise it to make it stronger. (You can choose this service without a manuscript critique, but remember, I will not have any info about the work you’re pitching outside what’s in the query/synopsis itself.) Critique includes my recommended changes and a 30 minute call (FaceTime, Zoom, etc.) to discuss.

Consulting
Are you just looking to talk about the industry and gain some knowledge in general, without a manuscript critique? I can talk to you by FaceTime, Zoom, etc. My rate for this type of consulting is $50 an hour. Keep in mind, you receive a 90-120 minute call as part of the critiques I offer above, which start at $79 for 10 pages, so please consider that type of service if you have a specific manuscript to discuss.
